Rick is fun, energetic and an experienced instructor, which is good because driving is stressful and painstaking to learn. I passed first time with Rick within a few months, and had only 1 minor on my test. He is very thorough and corrects everything wrong you do, but I can only thank him now for pushing me through it so quick, I am very comfortable driving on my own shortly after passing and Rick has given me road confidence that I lacked prior to having lessons. He always shows up early and finishes on time, his rates are cheaper than most other instructors and driving with him in practice and on test is much easier due to his positive attitude. Rick’s a great driving instructor! He is always available for lessons and very punctual. I didn’t know the first thing about driving and was nervous about doing so. This soon faded as he will give you the confidence as he’s very passionate about helping people to pass their driving test. He will allow you to go at your own pace so you gradually feel comfortable whilst driving. Lessons were also good to attend as he’s always up for a conversation and a laugh! I called Rick a little over a year ago and asked him if he would be able to take me on as a pupil. As a 25 year old beginner, I lacked the fearlessness of a 17 year old, but, from the first lesson I found myself feeling confident and comfortable behind the wheel.
Rick’s practical approach to teaching sees you spending your entire lesson on the road. Theory is covered in situ and revised before your theory test. Lessons are set at a pace which suits you – I never felt like I was being rushed or held back.
I found Rick to be a highly reliable instructor. He never cancelled a lesson and was always prompt. His professionalism, friendliness and enthusiasm meant I got my PASS, first time!

I originally started learning to drive in October 2014, and had a bad experience with my previous instructor before I started with Rick. I had 20+ lessons with my previous instructor but I never felt like I was progressing, was picking up bad habits and it was definitely time for a change.

In August 2015 I started having lessons with Rick. I explained the whole of my situation and Rick understood that I wanted to just get my test out of the way as quick as possible. So after the first couple of lessons it was apparent that I had gained no driving skills from my old instructor and it felt like I had completely started again. But with Rick’s guidance it was within no time I felt confident again to go for my test.

Having the experience of having two different instructors I would put Rick in a completely different league above the others and would recommend him to anyone. Flexible with his hours, never late for lessons and most importantly driving tuition to a very high standard, I can now confidently say that I have gained safe driving skills for life.

Hi- I could not recommend Rick more. I am originally from the USA so already knew how to drive so Rick’s role was more about making sure that I could drive the right way in the UK. I felt very confident with Rick’s instructing and passed the test on my first attempt and I do think I’m an even better driver now than when I started. He was a very competent instructor and a friendly guy- I actually enjoyed my lessons! Rick was also very good about finding slots that worked with my schedule so we could get extra lessons in after my test slot was moved out by a few months. If you want someone who is going to make sure you pass and give you all the help along the way, you can’t go wrong with Rick!

Rick is a really excellent teacher. He was much more thorough than other instructors I’ve had, but friendly and easy going too. He sends you typed up notes after your lessons which I found really helpful. I passed first time with him, but years before had failed several times. He’s a cut above the rest!

After a long break from learning to drive, i decided to learn again and found Rick on here from the reviews which is a true reflection on his lessons!

I soon got into the swing of things after a my 2nd lessons in and felt i was learning faster then i had with my first instructor. I manage to pass under a year with Rick, he genuinely helped me gained my confidence especially with I’m approaching roundabouts, doing manoeuvres and he help me breaking out of bad habits. He Covered routes which i drove on the day of my test and taught me rules of the roads and explained them to me which actually helped me when i was doing my theory test (which i passed first time!)
He is very patience even when i kept making the same mistakes.

Rick has a very calm manner and makes you feel at ease from day one. He is thorough when explaining things and uses visual aids on the IPad to assist with this. He always sends notes at the end of each lesson and if there is anything you don’t feel confident doing, he will make sure that time is given to practice them. I had lessons years ago and had a couple of instructors but Rick is by far the best. He took me from being someone who was nervous of driving on the Bristol roads to someone who felt confident, capable and managed to pass first time with zero faults. I have other friends who have passed first time with Rick and I would recommend him anytime

Rick was great. He was always on time. Picked me up where was best for me and kept me up to date with his diary.
